Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0410049A1] The contact set has a contact bolt (2) and a cupped contact carrier (3) supporting a contact disc (5) for each axially opposing contact. The contact disc is supported by the peripheral edge of the contact carrier (3) with mechanical stabilisation of its central zone provided by props (6) of an electrically weak conducting material. The props cooperate to define a support ring and lie along an arc with a dia equal to, or less than, the dia (d) of the contact bolt (2). The latter dia is at least 50 per cent of the outer dia of the contact carrier (3). The wall of the contact carrier incorporates slits (4) extending at an angle to the contact axis for providing windings.
