[origin: EP0410146A2] The variable resistor has a housing (1) which can be closed at its one end by a housing cover (2). Arranged inside the housing (1) are two mutually opposite guide rails (14) between which a resistor support (3) is held. On the housing cover there is an elastically sprung web (19) which presses the resistor support elastically against the other end wall (12) of the housing. <IMAGE>
