Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0410235A2] An electrical switching device (10) with two contact points (70, 71) for a phase conductor and a neutral conductor has a switching mechanism, which can be operated by means of a switching handle (45), for opening and closing the contact points (70, 71), and a fuse element (18) which can be inserted into a retaining space (17) of the switching device and, on insertion and withdrawal, acts on at least one contact point to effect its operation. In order to prevent the switching mechanism being able to be operated when the fuse element (18) is withdrawn, the switching mechanism has a rotatably supported double-armed lever (56), whose first arm (55) is coupled to the switching handle (45) and whose second arm (57) is coupled to the contact points (74, 75; 79, 78), the switching mechanism assuming a first stable position, in which the contact points are closed, and a second stable position, in which the contact points are open. Supported rotatably in the rotation axis of the double-armed lever (56) is a forked lever, which has a first and a second fork arm (60, 61), whose first fork arm (61) is coupled to the fuse element (18) and whose second fork arm (60) is coupled to the switching mechanism in such a manner that, when the fuse element is withdrawn, the switching mechanism can be moved into the second stable position, or is fixed therein. <IMAGE>
