[origin: EP0410249A2] The invention relates to an umbrella handle (2) having a carrying loop which intersects the cross-section of the handle and is held in clamping engagement, the clamping engagement being produced by a clamping piece which is inserted with positive fit into a groove (10) of the umbrella handle (2) having undercuts (11), said groove (10) tapering in cross-section, seen in the direction of insertion. To achieve a simple, easy-to-assemble carrying loop attachment, it is proposed that the clamping piece (5) consists of an approximately cylindrical hub (8) which has a channel (6) to receive the portion of the carrying loop to be attached, on which hub (8) there is seated a radially extending moulding (9) which forms the taper (12) in the direction of insertion, the hub (8) forming shell sections (8') or counter-surfaces towards the undercuts (11). <IMAGE>
