Procédé et dispositif (100) permettant de traiter thermiquement un feuillard métallique (1) caractérisés en ce qu'on fait passer le feuillard (1) dans une enceinte (2) contenant un gaz (3) pratiquement dépourvu de ventilation forcée de telle sorte qu'un transfert de chaleur s'effectue entre le feuillard (1) et les parois (2a) de l'enceinte (2) par l'intermédiaire du gaz (3) contenu dans l'enceinte (2).
