Method and device for the sizing of tiles, in particular made of slate, clay or other natural or man-made stones, in the course of which one blank tile (22) after the other is dropped into a sizing station (15), is clamped in place there and is cut off at its margins by an orbiting cutting tool (11) and then passes onto a finished-tile discharge conveyor (17). Verfahren und Vorrichtung zum Zurichten von Platten, insbesondere aus Schiefer, Ton oder anderen natürlichen oder künstlichen Gesteinen, wobei eine Rohplatte (22) nach der anderen im freien Fall in eine Zurichtstation (15) eingeworfen, dort festgeklemmt und von einem kreisenden Bearbeitungswerkzeug (11) an ihren Rändern abgeschnitten wird und danach auf eine Fertigplatten-Abfördereinrichtung (17) gelangt. Um einen hohen Durchsatz beim Zurichten der Platten zu erreichen, können mehrere Bearbeitungsstationen(I, II) in der Bewegungsbahn (14) des Bearbeitungswerkzeuges (11) angeordnet sein, die von dem Bearbeitungswerkzeug (11) im stetigen Durchlauf überfahren werden.
