[origin: EP0410823A1] The casing comprises an operating lever (8), articulated on a transverse axle (13), and a mechanism (16) controlled by the lever and capable of driving two rods (17, 18) in opposite directions; each rod is equipped, at its end distant from the casing, with a bolt for bringing about a locking at a high point and at a low point respectively. The operating lever (8) comprises a unilateral stop member (19) capable of interacting with one of two complementary stops (21, 22) provided on a driving member (23) of the mechanism (16), the lever (8) being tiltable from one position to another so as to interact with the appropriate complementary stop (21, 22), in order to allow mounting equally on a door of either the "right-hand" or the "left-hand" type. <IMAGE>
