[origin: JPH03151137A] PURPOSE: To contrive automation in changing dies for the production of many kinds in small quantities by employing a die changing mechanism which is equipped with a die handling member having plural chambers for feeding workpieces. CONSTITUTION: A swaging machine employs a die changing mechanism having a pivotally movable die handling member 10. The die handling member 10 is provided with a plurality of chambers 13, in each of which a gripping means is installed that grips a set of dies 4. The die handling member 10 is designed to be pivotally movable at plural positions with which the workpiece feeding axis 6 of the chambers 13 coincides, and is also linked with a front cover 9 through a cam groove 12 so as to open/close the cover 9. The die gripping means is constituted such that a handling lever 16 is arranged and that the dies 4 are changed from a tool guiding member 2 to the chambers 13 or from the chambers 13 to the guiding means 2. Thus, the changing operation of the dies 4 can be automated.
