The invention relates to an internal combustion engine for automotive vehicles comprising a crankshaft (6) having an output gear (28) and a power output shaft (16) disposed in parallel to the crankshaft and is adapted to distribute the output power of the crankshaft to clutch and/or transmission means and/or to accessory equipment wherein the crankshaft and the output shaft both are supported by a common integral unitary bearing structure comprising an upper (70) and lower half (8), respectively.
