Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0411346A2] The invention relates to a finishing machine for lapping, precision grinding or polishing, having two annular working wheels which can be driven separately and are on a vertical axis, a drivable inner pin rim and a preferably stationary outer pin rim being provided in the area of the bottom wheel, in which pin rims work holders or dressing rings engage by means of toothing and thus move in a planetary manner around the central axis of the machine. Here, the constant control of the engagement pressure of the mating members during the machining and dressing is effected by virtue of the fact that the top working wheel, preferably mounted to oscillate, can be acted upon by an axial force which in particular can be produced pneumatically or hydraulically and which, upon indirect or direct contact with the bottom working wheel, can be deduced at the bottom frame of the machine via force transducers. <IMAGE>
