Ein mit einer Drehmomentkupplung versehener Schrauber enthält eine im Ruhezustand und beim Einschrauben die Beweglichkeit der Drehmomentkupplung (5) sperrende Sperrkupplung (6) und einen neben der Schraubklinge (10) aus dem Schraubergehäuse (1) in Axialrichtung (15) auf das Werkstück (48) vorstehenden, gegen eine Rückstellkraft (45) längsverschiebbaren Taster (37), dessen nach dem Auftreffen auf die Werkstückoberfläche (48) durch den weiteren Schraubvorschub bewirkte, gehäuseeinwärts gerichtete Verschiebebewegung die Sperrkupplung (6) schaltet und die Drehmomentkupplung (5) aktiviert. Der Schrauber schaltet beim Aufsetzen der Schraubklinge (10) auf die Befestigungsschraube (44) durch eine Selbstschalteeinrichtung automatisch ein. Beim Erreichen des Festzieh-Drehmomentes der Befestigungsschraube (44) wird der Antriebsmotor automatisch gestoppt. Beim Absetzen des Schraubers von der Befestigungsschraube (44) wird dieser selbsttätig in einen Ruhe-Schaltzustand zurückgeführt.
