[origin: EP0412295A2] To cut sausage or sausage-like meat products into slices, an axial pressure and a radial pressure are exerted synchronously on the product (10). In the state thus stabilised, slice after slice is cut off from the product (10) with the aid of a rotating cutter (1) without a notable deformation of the product (10) being able to occur due to the surface pressure of the cutting edge (4) of the cutter (1), which would impair the dimensional accuracy of the resulting slices.
