[origin: EP0412349A2] The proposed snap fastener made of spring sheet steel serves for the releasable fastening of doors, windows or the like mounted pivotably in a frame. The fastener consists of a catch (1) fastened to the pivotal part (15) so that it can spring open and having an insertion leg (9) inclined relative to the pivoting direction and a detent leg (10) angled relative to said insertion leg as well as an associated recess (17) in the frame (16) for the introduction of the detent edge (19) formed by the insertion leg (9) and detent leg (10). To ensure that the catch (1) shifts laterally in parallel with the carrier plate, the catch (1) is displaceably guided in a straight line transversely to its pivoting direction (arrow P) in a housing (2) and is supported at its rear end on the housing (2) by means of a spring leg (13). <IMAGE>
