Abstract (en)
During the reproduction of two central positioned signal by a pair of loudspeakers in a sound reproduction apparatus, the characteristic of sound propagation is leveled so that the perception of reproduced sound is possible without distortion at any location off the center line between the two loudspeakers. An input audio signal is passed through a filter for removing its low-band component and delayed by a delayer. The delay signal is then added to the input audio signal in approximately opposite-phase relationship to obtain two sum signals. The two sum signals are amplified by power amplifiers and reproduced by their respective loudspeakers.
