[origin: EP0413147A2] A sheathed-element glow plug for arrangement in the combustion chamber of a Diesel combustion engine is proposed, in which the control coil (8) and the heating coil (7) are guided by means of a guide pin (12) and fixed in their position. The guide pin (12) is connected rigidly to the connecting bolt (9) and can consist of metal or ceramic material. In order to bring about a separation at the combustion chamber-side end of the guide pin (12) during reduction of the diameter of the glow plug, a predetermined break point (24) is provided. <IMAGE>
