[origin: EP0413210A1] For banding objects (5), a banding strip (2) is pushed up into an open loop (3) which is then drawn tight around the object and welded or adhesively bonded at the ends. Impressed into the banding strip is a longitudinally directed reinforcement which increases the rigidity of the banding strip in the interests of the stability of the pushed-up loop. <IMAGE>
