Method of sealing the peripheral edge joints of a double-glazing unit, in particular a motor vehicle double-glazing unit, which has an inner pane, an outer pane and a peripheral edge joint. The peripheral edge joint is filled with an adhesive and, in the region of the projecting strip, a smooth surface is formed between inner pane and outer pane. For this purpose, the peripheral edge joint is filled to excess with the adhesive. The adhesive, including the excess amounts, is made to set. The excess amounts are removed by means of at least one mechanical tool which is moved in relation to the peripheral edge of the double-glazing unit. - Tool equipment for carrying out the method is likewise specified.

Verfahren zur Randfugenversiegelung einer Isolierglaseinheit (9), insbesondere einer Kraftfahrzeug-Isolierglaseinheit, die eine Innenscheibe (11), eine Außenscheibe und eine Randfuge (13) aufweist. Die Randfuge (13) wird mit einem Kleber (14) gefüllt und zwischen Innenscheibe (11) und Außenscheibe wird im Bereich des Überstandsstreifens eine glatte Fläche gebildet. Dazu wird die Randfuge (13) im Überschuß mit dem Kleber (14) gefüllt. Der Kleber (14) wird einschließlich der Überschußmassen (15) zur Erhärtung gebracht. Die Überschußmassen (15) werden durch zumindest ein mechanisches Werkzeug (1), welches relativ zum Rand (10) der isolierglaseinheit (9) bewegt wird, abgetragen. - Auch Werkzeugaggregate für die Durchführung des Verfahrens werden angegebenen.
