The electrical hair dryer has an accommodation housing, having a handle, for a fan motor and a fan wheel and a heating element made of resistance wire. The handle has a switching member for the operating stages and an off-switch for the fan motor and the heating element. To reduce the constructional length and for operation at lower compression values for the fan air, provision is made for the accommodation housing to be formed by two pot-shaped shells (1, 2), which are connected to each other by clamping means, with passage openings for the fan air and in each case a handle shell (7, 8) moulded on in the edge region of the open sides of the shells, and for the shells (1, 2) and handle shells (7, 8) to be able to be placed one on top of the other with the edge surfaces of the open sides. Furthermore, the shells (1, 2) and the handle shells (7, 8) are intended to enclose between them a cylindrical central part (3) with a web (26) extending into the handle shells and the central part (3) is intended to bear the fan motor (4) with the fan wheel (5) and the heating element (6) by means of a blower grid (23, 24) which is fixedly connected to said central part. <IMAGE>

Bei einem elektrischen Haartrockner mit einem einen Handgriff aufweisenden Aufnahmegehäuse für einen Gebläsemotor und ein Gebläserad sowie einer Heizwicklung aus Widerstandsdraht, dessen Handgriff ein Schaltglied für die Betriebsstufen und Aus für Gebläsemotor und Heizwicklung aufweist, ist zur Verkürzung der Baulänge und zum Betrieb mit kleineren Druckziffern für die Gebläseluft vorgesehen, daß das Aufnahmegehäuse durch zwei mittels Klemmittel miteinander verbundene topfförmige Schalen (1,2) mit Durchlaßöffnungen für die Gebläseluft und je einer im Randbereich der Offenseiten der Schalen angeformten Griffschale (7,8) gebildet ist und daß die Schalen (1,2) und Griffschalen (7,8) mit den Randflächen der Offenseiten aufeinander legbar sind. Weiter sollen die Schalen (1,2) und die Griffschalen (7,8) zwischen sich ein zylindrisches Mittelteil (3) mit einem sich in die Griffschalen erstreckenden Steg (26) einschließen und der Mittelteil (3) vermittels eines mit diesem fest verbundenen Ausblasgitters (23,24) den Gebläsemotor (4) mit Gebläserad (5) und die Heizwicklung (6) tragen.
