Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0414266A1] A stripline patch antenna (1) having a slot plate (8) which is capable of obtaining higher antenna gain, while reducing the loss due to the feed lines. The antenna (1) includes at least one radiating element (4) for transmitting and receiving radio waves; a feed line (5) for transmitting signals to and from the radiating element; a dielectric substrate (2) for supporting the radiating element means (4) and the feed line means (5); a grounding conductor (3) located below the dielectric substrate (2); and a slot plate (8) located above the dielectric substrate (2), having a plurality of slots (7) more numerous than the radiating element (4). The triplate substrate can be adapted to this antenna. A plurality of antenna units so constructed can be arranged in array such that at least one of the slots of each antenna unit is shared with a neighboring antenna unit.
