[origin: EP0414613A2] The invention proposes a method of making a surface element (1) which absorbs electromagnetic waves. Strips or plates of mineral wool (3) are stacked up, whilst inserting strips or plates (4) of an electrically conducting material. The stacks are cut up into vertical slices and glued, cutting surface side, to a support-strip (2). <??>The invention applies in particular to constructions in airport localities. <IMAGE>
