Abstract (en)
A face mask (10) which may be disposed after one use or reused which filters particulate matter and/or noxious or poisonous gases from inhaled air. The mask (10) has a shell (11) formed of polymeric closed cell foam which is air impervious, which has good flexibility and shape retention qualities, enabling a secure sealing against the face of the mask user. The mask shell (11) has one or more holes (12) through a central portion thereof and a filter (17) mounted to cover said holes (12). A one-way valve (16) is mounted through the wall of the mask shell (11) to provide an exhaust for exhaled air.
