[origin: JPH03106755A] PURPOSE: To form a plurality of folds in a sheet material at high speed by providing a driving means for continuously moving the sheet material through folding means without stopping during formation of first, second and third folds on first, second and third folding means. CONSTITUTION: A fold 32 extending along the path of movement of a sheet material is formed by a first folder assembly 72. Next, a fold 34 extending in the direction perpendicular to the moving direction of the sheet material is formed by a second folder assembly 78. Finally, a fold 36 extending along the path of movement of the sheet material is formed by a third folder assembly. While the sheet material is folded by the folder assemblies 72, 78 and 86, the sheet material is continuously moved by a driving means through the folder assemblies 72, 78, 86 without being stopped.

Ein verbesserter Falzapparat umfaßt eine erste Falzeinrichtung (72), welche einen ersten Falz in Bogenmaterial entlang seiner Laufbahn bildet. Eine zweite Falzeinrichtung (78) bildet einen zweiten Falz in dem Bogenmaterial, welcher sich quer zu seiner Laufbahn erstreckt. Eine dritte Falzeinrichtung (86) bildet einen dritten Falz in dem Bogenmaterial, wobei sich nun der erste und der dritte Falz entlang seiner Laufbahn durch die dritte Falzeinrichtung erstreckt und der zweite Falz an einem vorderen Randteil des Bogenmaterials. Während die drei Falze gebildet werden, wird das Bogenmaterial kontinuierlich und ohne Stoppen durch die Falzeinrichtungen bewegt. Die dritte Falzeinrichtung (86) umfaßt eine Anordnung von oberen und unteren Bändern (124, 152). Diese Anordnung von Bändern verjüngt sich von einem weiten Einlaufteil zu einem Auslaufteil der dritten Falzeinrichtung. Die Anordnung von oberen und unteren Bändern hält Bereiche beiderseits des dritten Falzes flach auf einer horizontalen Ebene, während das Bogenmaterial von den Bändern ergriffen wird. Eine Stapeleinrichtung (102) stapelt die von der dritten Falzeinrichtung erhaltenen gefalzten Signaturen zu einem Stapel, wobei der Hauptteil der Signaturseitenflächen sich in einer Aufrecht-Orientierung und der dritte Falz nach unten gegen eine Stützfläche gerichtet befindet.
