In door switches for vehicles, the operating movement in general corresponds directly to the switching movement, that is to say a large operating movement also results in a large switching movement. This often results in space problems. In addition, a long switching movement also exacerbates reliable sealing of the switches and often necessitates a number of switch variants as a function of the size of the vehicle door gap. These problems in such a switch are avoided in that a switching lever (3) for operating the switching pin (5) on the switch housing (2) or switch flange (11) is supported such that it can pivot about a pivoting axis (12) arranged at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the switching pin (5), and offset laterally therefrom, and has a switching cam (4) resting on the head of the switching pin (5), the switching pin (5) being sealed on the operating side of the switch with respect to the switch housing (2) by means of a diaphragm seal (10) which is self-bracing both on the switch housing (2) and on the switching pin (5). <IMAGE>

Bei Türkontaktschaltern für Kraftfahrzeuge entspricht im allgemeinen der Betätigungsweg direkt dem Schaltweg, das heißt ein großer Betätigungsweg resultiert auch in einem großen Schaltweg. Hierdurch kommt es häufig zu Platzproblemen. Außerdem erschwert ein langer Schaltweg auch die zuverlässige Abdichtung der Schalter und erfordert vielfach mehrere Schaltervarianten in Abhängigkeit vom Türspaltmaß am Fahrzeug. Diese Probleme werden bei einem solchen Schalter dadurch vermieden, daß ein Schalthebel (3) für die Betätigung des Schaltstiftes (5) am Schaltergehäuse (2) oder Schalterflansch (11) um eine zur Längsachse des Schaltstiftes (5) quer und seitlich dazu versetzt angeordnete Schwenkachse (12) drehbar gelagert ist und einen am Kopf des Schaltstiftes (5) anliegenden Schaltnocken (4) aufweist, wobei der Schaltstift (5) an der Betätigungsseite des Schalters gegenüber dem Schaltergehäuse (2) durch eine sowohl am Schaltergehäuse (2) als auch am Schaltstift (5) selbst eingespannte Membrandichtung (10) abgedichtet ist.
