In known charging boxes for scrap shears or scrap baling presses with a stationary wall and a supply slide which is movable along the wall, there is arranged, to close the charging box interior, a closing wall which is movable with one or two degrees of freedom on the baseplate of the charging box and can, by hydraulic cylinders and/or springs, be brought non-positively to bear against the vertical front edge of the free unguided end of the compacting wall which is angularly movable about both ends and guided along the shear-side fixed wall. <??>Material to be compacted, after overcoming the spring or hydraulic force, can be clamped between the movable closing wall and the angularly adjustable compacting wall. The constant frictional connection between closing wall and compacting wall leads to increased force requirement of the compacting wall drive and to increased wear. <??>To prevent jamming of material to be compacted and to reduce the force requirement for the compacting wall drive, the circular arc-shaped convex end surface (5a) of the angularly adjustable compacting wall (5) bears against the circular arc-shaped concave side surface of the movable closing wall (15), which side has a corresponding central point of curvature, and can there be guided along, in an interlocking manner, between both parts. <IMAGE>

Bei bekannten Schiebemulden für Schrottscheren oder Schrottpaketierpressen mit einer feststehenden Wand und einem daran entlang bewegbaren Zuführschieber wird zum Schließen des Schiebemuldeninnenraums eine auf der Grundplatte der Schiebemulde mit einem oder zwei Freiheitsgraden bewegliche und durch Hydraulikzylinder und/oder Federn gegen die senkrechte Vorderkante des freien ungeführten Endes der um beide Enden winkelbeweglichen und entlang der scherenseitigen festen Wand geführten Verdichterwand kraftschlüssig zur Anlage bringbare Schließwand angeordnet. Zu verdichtendes Gut kann sich nach Überwindung der Feder- bzw. Hydraulikkraft zwischen die bewegliche Schließwand und die winkelverstellbare Verdichterwand klemmen. Der ständige Kraftschluß zwischen Schließwand und Verdichterwand führt zu erhöhtem Kraftbedarf des Verdichterwandantriebs und zu erhöhtem Verschleiß. Zur Verhinderung des Einklemmens von zu verdichtendem Gut und zur Verminderung des Kraftbedarfs für den Verdichterwandantrieb liegt die kreisbogenförmig konvexe Stirnfläche (5a) der winkelverstellbaren Verdichterwand (5) an der mit übereinstimmendem Krümmungsmittelpunkt kreisbogenförmig konkaven Seitenfläche der beweglichen Schließwand (15) an und ist dort unter Formschluß zwischen beiden Teilen entlangführbar.
