[origin: EP0415805A1] This device comprises a movable securing or locking member (14) whose housing is fixed onto the corresponding trolley (1) at a point such that this member can engage in locking position in or against the structure of another trolley (1) when these two trolleys are stacked one inside the other. A control box (6) is also provided which can be merged with the housing and whose mechanism is capable of controlling, or at the very least of permitting, the removal of this securing or locking member when a deposit token is inserted. Moreover the present device comprises a system for detection or for monitoring the stacking of the trolley in question on or in another trolley, this system then being able to act on the mechanism of the control box (6), while, due to this action, this mechanism is able to ensure the return of the payment token previously received and, at the same time, to permit the return of the securing or locking member (14, 49) into its locking position. This deposit-charging device is intended to equip trolleys of the stackable type placed at the disposal of the users, so that the latter cannot make use of such a trolley until after depositing a certain sum of money in this device. <IMAGE>
