Abstract (en)
This apparatus comprises plates which are fastened against the front faces (1a, 2a) of the rolls (1, 2) in order to close off the ends of the casting space (3) delimited by the rolls; each front face (1a, 2a) of a roll is equipped with a flexible endless belt (5, 5') bearing, on the one hand, on the roll at the junction of its front face (1a) and of its cylindrical surface (1b), and, on the other hand, on the opposite face of the associated closing plate (4), in order to ensure the seal between the latter and the front faces of the rolls. <IMAGE>

Ce dispositif comporte des plaques assujetties contre les faces frontales (1a, 2a) des cylindres (1, 2) pour obturer les extrémités de l'espace de coulée (3) délimité par les cylindres; chaque face frontale (1a, 2a) d'un cylindre est équipée d'une bande souple sans fin (5, 5') prenant appui, d'une part sur le cylindre à la jonction de sa face frontale (1a) et de sa surface cylindrique (1b), et d'autre part sur la face en vis-à-vis de la plaque obturatrice (4) associée, pour assurer l'étanchéité entre cette dernière et les faces frontales des cylindres.
