Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0416253A2] A light, such as a headlight, a signalling light, a lighting fixture or the like, is proposed which is provided with an essentially flat, light-transmitting emitter element (10) in whose circumferential edge (13) a multiplicity of luminous elements (14) are inserted. The edges (13) are provided with an inwardly reflecting layer (16). The front side (12) of the emitter element is constructed as an emitting area, while the whole of the rear side (11) is provided with an inwardly reflecting layer (16). Such a light can be used in conjunction with a very flat design, low power consumption and a large homogeneous luminous area for motor vehicle lighting, in particular. <IMAGE>
