[origin: EP0416269A1] The slatted support base according to the invention consists of a rectangular inner frame and a rectangular outer frame (12, 11) which are designed in terms of dimensions such that the side panels and the transverse panels rest snugly on one another or with slight spacing relative to one another. The sprung slats are arranged on one frame. Said frame can at least be raised and lowered relative to the other frame by means of an adjusting device. The outer dimensions of the outer frame correspond to the dimensions of the previously known slatted support bases so that it can be inserted in an existing bed frame. To simplify the construction, the sprung slats are arranged on the height-adjustable inner frame (12). The adjusting device is then hinged to the outer frame (11). <IMAGE>
