[origin: WO8912127A1] A sewing machine is designed so that the feed dog executes, as desired, either rectangular movements or horizontal sliding movements only. The sewing machine has a lower feed dog to which adjustable horizontal sliding movements are imparted by a drive cam via a stitching actuator and vertical lifting movements are imparted by a drive cam via a pivoting lifting shaft with a lifting cam. A releasable coupling (34-39) is arranged between the lifting shaft (29) and its drive cam (25). The sewing machine can be used both for normal sewing operations, in which the lower feed dog executes a rectangular movement, and for hemming operations in which it may execute horizontal sliding movements only.

Une machine à coudre est conçue de sorte que la griffe d'entraînement exécute, au choix, soit des mouvements rectangulaires soit uniquement des mouvements coulissants horizontaux. La machine à coudre possède une griffe d'entraînement inférieure à laquelle des mouvements coulissants horizontaux réglables sont imprimés par une came d'entraînement via un règle-point, et des mouvements verticaux de levage sont imprimés par une came d'entraînement via un arbre de levage pivotant pourvu d'un coude de levage. Un accouplement mobile (34, 39) est agencé entre l'arbre de levage (29) et sa came d'entraînement (25). La machine à coudre s'utilise à la fois pour des travaux normaux de couture dans lesquels la griffe d'entraînement inférieure exécute un mouvement rectangulaire, et pour des ourlets dans lesquels elle ne doit exécuter que des mouvements coulissants horizontaux.
