[origin: EP0417576A1] The invention relates to a device for automatically filling up a magazine (1) for receiving a stack (6) of cardboard blanks (3), in particular for cigarette packets, in an essentially vertical shaft, from which the cardboard blanks (3) can be removed at the bottom, a conveyor (9) being provided with its delivery end adjacent to the upper edge of a lateral guide (4) of the magazine shaft and with a horizontal conveying section for receiving a number of stacks (6', 6'') of cardboard blanks (3), which conveyor is provided with a drive (12, 13) which can be switched on via a detector (22) for the upper edge (23) of the stack (6) situated in the magazine (1), which is situated at a level slightly below the horizontal conveying section, and which, after reaching a wall (2) of the magazine shaft lying opposite the lateral guide (4), switches off by means of a stack (6') conveyed into the magazine (1) by the conveyor (9). <IMAGE>
