[origin: JPH0399758A] PURPOSE: To obtain a header having sufficient heat characteristic by making the vertical walls of the header in contact with rolls from refractory having high heat-insulating property and the front surface walls of the header in contact with the surfaces at small sides from refractory having high mechanical strength. CONSTITUTION: On the rolls 1, 1' in a continuous casting machine for thin metallic product, the header 2 composed of four walls is disposed. The header 2 is brought into contact with the rolls 1, 1' through the vertical walls 3, 3' composed of the heat-insulating refractory and brought into contact with the surfaces at the small sides closing a casting space through the front surface walls 4, 4' composed of the high durability refractory. In this way, the header having sufficient heat characteristic is obtd.
