In order to provide a wear-resistance surface coating for the rollers of roller mills, especially high pressure roller mills for material bed comminution of granular material, which surface coating is simple in terms of production technology and despite profiling and therefore good drawing-in capacity also has a high standing time capacity, according to the invention a roller surface coating is proposed in which at least the outermost layer consists of transverse welding beads which are welded on one next to the other horizontally along roller generating lines without spacing from one another or only with a small spacing from one another.

Um für die Walzen von Walzenmaschinen, inbesondere von Hochdruck-Walzenpressen zur Gutbettzerkleinerung körnigen Gutes, eine fertigungstechnisch einfache verschleißfeste Panzerung zu schaffen, die trotz Profilierung und daher guten Guteinzugsvermögens auch ein hohes Standzeitvermögen aufweist, wird erfindungsgemäß eine Walzenpanzerung vorgeschlagen, bei der wenigstens die äußerste Schicht aus Querschweißraupen besteht, die horizontal längs Walzenmantellinien ohne Abstand voneinander oder nur mit einem geringen Abstand voneinander nebeneinander aufgeschweißt sind.
