[origin: US5078032A] A device for cutting wire which includes at least one rotating knife supported on a rotating knife carrier and a counter-tool. The counter-tool includes a cutting blade rotating about a vertical first axis and having a central opening therethrough and adapted to receive the wire to be cut therethrough. The knife carrier is rotatingly supported about a second axis which is parallel with respect to the first axis, and the knife is guided along the cutting blade past the central opening to cut the wire thereat.
