A method and a device for decorating objects (32) having a conical outer surface (34) with a pattern from an embossing film (10) are described, wherein the embossing film (10) is unwound from a supply roll (100), deflected around a deflection roller (46) and subsequently fed to an embossing station (36), in which a pattern from the embossing film (10) is embossed onto the outer surface (34) of the object (32). With the aid of an adjusting device, the deflection roller (46) and the supply roll (100) execute a linear movement parallel to the longitudinal axis of the supply roll (46) and, at the same time, a swivel movement about a swivel axle (50) which is perpendicular to its longitudinal axis. In this case, the deflection roller (46) is displaced continuously in a linear manner about a route which corresponds to the deviation between the straight-line course of the embossing film (10) and the curve of the layout of the conical outer surface (34) of the object (32) to be decorated. At the same time, the deflection roller (46) is continuously swivelled through an angle (b) so that the straight-line course of the embossing film (10) is adapted in relation to the respective opening angle (b) to the curved layout of the conical outer surface (34) of the object to be decorated. <IMAGE>

Es wird ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zum Dekorieren von eine konische Mantelfläche (34) aufweisenden Gegenständen (32) mit einem Dekor einer Prägefolie (10) beschrieben, wobei die Prägefolie (10) von einer Vorratsrolle (100) abgewickelt, um eine Umlenkrolle (46) umgelenkt und anschliessend einer Prägestation (36) zugeführt wird, in Welcher ein Dekor von der Prägefolie (10) auf die Mantelfläche (34) des Gegenstandes (32) aufgeprägt wird. Die Umlenkrolle (46) und die Vorratsrolle (100) führen mit Hilfe einer Verstelleinrichtung eine zur Längsachse der Vorratsrolle (46) parallele lineare Bewegung und gleichzeitig eine Schwenkbewegung um eine zu ihrer Längsachse senkrechte Schwenkachse (50) aus. Die Umlenkrolle (46) wird hierbei kontinuierlich linear um eine Wegstrecke verschoben, die der Abweichung zwischen dem geradlinigen Verlauf der Prägefolie (10) und dem Bogen der Abwicklung der konischen Mantelfläche (34) des zu dekorierenden Gegenstandes (32) entspricht. Gleichzeitig wird die Umlenkrolle (46) kontinuierlich um einen Winkel (b) geschwenkt, so dass der geradlinige Verlauf der Prägefolie (10) in Bezug auf den jeweiligen Öffnungswinkel (b) der bogenförmigen Abwicklung der konischen Mantelfläche (34) des zu dekorierenden Gegenstandes angeglichen wird.
