Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0419415A1] The method is characterised in that a fibre lap, as a result of a fibre-dependent drawing between a nip of the feed device, in which the fibre lap is compressed and nipped with an adjustable nipping force, and a fibre take-over point on the opening roller, at which the opening roller takes over the fibres, is brought into a stretched fibre state and then exposed to a centrifugal force and is subsequently so guided past separating blades, the centrifugal force being maintained, that the edge-surface zone having impurities enriched as a result of drawing and centrifuging is separated off. The cleaning steps of predrawing and separation can be followed by further cleaning steps and a transposition step. <??>The apparatus is such that the feed means has a nipping device with an adjustable and displaceable nip, from which the lap is taken over by the opening roller (24) at a take-over point by plucking, and the take-over point is followed on the circumference of the opening roller (24) in the direction of transport by a separating means having an arrangement of separating blades (49.1, 49.2). <IMAGE>
