Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9012207A1] The control device of the invention is designed to enable a diesel engine to be brought rapidly to a halt by evacuating the suction chamber (16) of the fuel-injection pump (10) which supplies the engine with fuel. To this end, the control device (14) has two mechanically and hence permanently driven feed pumps (18; 20) which operate in conjuntion with a control valve (12) which is easy and inexpensive to manufacture and which has a valve element (68) which is basically hollow-cylindrical in shape and whose two end faces (72; 78) form control edges. By virtue of its design, the valve (12) is insensitive to dirt and can be built small; it can thus be accommodated in the cover of the fuel-injection pump (10) governer. This device is particularly suitable for diesel engines with high-pressure fuel-injection systems, providing additional relability.
