[origin: EP0419659A1] A color developer for pressure-sensitive recording medium containing a polyvalent metal salt of a salicylic acid and a polyvalent metal salt of rosin-modified phenol resin and an aqueous dispersion of color developer containing said color developer are disclosed. The color developer shows excellent initial color-forming properties and waterproofness and, since inexpensive resin-modified phenol resin is used as a starting material, serves to markedly decrease production cost.
