[origin: EP0419780A2] The luminaire for a fluorescent lamp (2) has a transparent protective tube (5) surrounding the lamp. Said tube is accommodated at the ends by ring nuts (6) which are connected to the holders for the fluorescent lamp and have seals (7). A plate (14) with openings for plugging through the contact pins (4) of the lamp (2) is provided at one end of the protective tube (5). The plate (14), which projects radially beyond the protective tube (5), has cutouts (18) at the rim as coupling elements, and nose-like projections (11) corresponding thereto are provided as mating elements on the inner wall of the ring nut (6). Said mating elements can be brought into self-closure with one another, or released therefrom, by displacing the ring nut (6) in the axial direction of the lamp (2). <IMAGE>
