[origin: EP0419822A2] Two reel supports (I, II), which each receive a fabric-web reel, can on a reel star (2) be moved alternately out of a loading position (A), which makes possible the introduction of a new reel (10), into a waiting position (B) which makes possible the connection of the fabric web. The reel supports (I, II) are moreover movable in the direction of the reel axis, to which end adjusting drives (A I, A II) are provided. The adjusting drive for the reel support of the respective unwinding reel (20) can be controlled by a regulator with a web sensor (F2), as actual value transmitter, which detects the edge position of the outgoing fabric web (30). On the movement path (12) of the reel support (I) of the respective new reel (10) out of the loading position (A) into the waiting position (B), there is provided in a measuring position (C) reel sensor (F1) which detects the edge position of the outer web winding (10') of the new reel (10) and which serves as actual value transmitter of a second regulator which, depending upon the difference of the edge position of the outgoing fabric web (30) and the edge position of the outer web winding (10') of the new reel (10), controls the axial adjusting drive (A I) for the reel support (I) of the new reel (10). Both regulators are connected to the axial adjusting drives (A I, A II) of both reel supports (I, II) by switching members which can be controlled corresponding to the rotation of the reel star (2) depending upon the position and/or movement of the reel supports (I, II) on their path (12) between the loading position (A) and the waiting position (B) and switch the regulators over between the adjusting drives (A I, A II). <IMAGE>
