[origin: EP0419919A1] A shredder device for refuse, such as wood, paper or plastic, has a rotor (3) with circumferential ribs (10). Each circumferential rib is interrupted by at least one pocket (14). Arranged in the latter is a tool holder with the tool (19). The tool (19) has a profile which protrudes radially over the rib profile to approximately the same degree. This produces a shredder device in which load peaks and jamming can be largely avoided. <IMAGE>
