Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Sicherheitsleiste (1), die als Schaltmatte (2) benutzt werden soll, eine Vielzahl von Kontaktelementen und Keilelementen aufweist, wobei diese beiden Bauteile durch eine Expanderschnur (12) aufeinandergezogen werden und die Keilelemente als Keilplatten (7), die Kontaktelemente als Kontaktplatten (6) ausgebildet sind, wobei im schaltbereiten Zustand die Expanderschnur (12) in den Kontaktplatten (6) und in den Keilplatten (7) in unterschiedlicher Höhe liegt.
