Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0421121A2] In an electrically driven hammer, in particular a percussion riveter, the assembly expenditure, in particular of the electrical components, is to be reduced. For this purpose, the on/off switch (17) traditionally located in the handle (7) is moved to the housing (2) located opposite to the handle and is operated by thumb and forefinger. This has the advantage that no electrical components are accommodated inside the handle (7) any more. The switch (17) is connected to a locking handle (16) which is displaceable transversely to the axis (6) of the tool receptacle (5) for switching on and off. All electrical and electronic components such as motor (3), switch (17), electronics (31) and mains connection cable (32) are integrated in a motor module (36). As a result, the electrical components are also better protected in the case of an impact of the hammer. <IMAGE>
