Abstract (en)
In order to connect a computer to a local area network, it is proposed that the actual connecting element which produces the physical coupling between the lead of the network and the computer circuit be accommodated in a connecting socket which can be installed in a cable duct. If this consists of a passive circuit, the invention proposes that a twisted-pair cable of precisely defined impedance be used as the connecting element, which permits the connecting cable to have a length of up to more than 2 m. <IMAGE>

Zum Anschluß eines Computers an ein lokales Netzwerk wird vorgeschlagen, das eigentliche, die physikalische Kopplung zwischen der Leitung des Netzwerks und der Schaltung des Computers herstellender Anschlußelement in einer Anschlußdose unterzubringen, die in einen Kabelkanal einbaubar ist. Wenn es sich dabei um eine passive Schaltung handelt, so schlägt die Erfindung als Verbindungselement ein Twisted-Pair-Kabel genau definierter Impedanz vor, das eine Länge des Verbindungskabels bis zu mehr als 2 m ermöglicht.
