[origin: EP0421272A1] The invention relates to a mattress (1) comprising a block made of elastic polyurethane soft foam material. In order to achieve optimum punctiform surface characteristics, the mattress is provided at least on one of the two surfaces (2, 3) with parallel incisions (4, 5, 6, 7, 8) both in the longitudinal direction and in the transverse direction, the depth of which incisions is about one quarter to one third of the thickness of the mattress. <IMAGE>
