Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0421873A1] The bomb body is equipped at its rear end with a propulsion unit 3, at the outlet of which is arranged a jet collector 5 having a plurality of conduits 6 and encased in a cover 7. The cover 7 is kept in position by cables 8. Articulated on the cover 7 are traps 13 which, under the effect of the pressure of the jet issuing from the conduits 6, are unfolded forwards over a limited stroke, thereby deflecting said jet forwards in order to ensure the drag of the bomb. After a reduction in speed of the bomb, measured by a device 11, a pyrotechnic system 10 is controlled so as to ensure the severance of the cables 8 and therefore the ejection of the cover 7 and the restoration of the propulsion of the bomb. The device automatically ensures the braking back of a bomb after its release and the restoration of the propulsion of the latter when the speed of the bomb is below a predetermined value. <IMAGE>
