[origin: EP0422491A1] In a drawing device (2) in drawing stages of a press, the pressure cheek (3) is divided into segments (4), in the corner regions of which pressure cylinders (9) engage. The pressure cylinders (9) are fixed to the press. Their piston rods act via connecting rods (10) on a bracket (5) which can be raised and lowered. At least one locking cylinder (14) fixed to the frame is provided, engaging via a lifting bridge (12) on the bracket (5) and, in accordance with the supply of pressure to it, prevents an upward movement of the bracket (5) and hence of the pressure cheek (3). The point in time at which the holding phase occurs in the upward movement phase can be determined by valve control of the pressure in the locking cylinders (14). <IMAGE>
