This chair comprises a back (1), a seat (3) and a footrest (5), the footrest and the back being articulated to the seat at the front and at the rear of the latter respectively, the seat is mounted in an articulated manner on a horizontal axis (15) integral with the sides of the support frame of the chair and the back rests by its lower end in a mobile manner on a cam profile (17) which is also integral with the said support frame, the footrest and the back being connected by a rod (13) under the seat articulated by its ends onto each of them, a means of control (21) allowing the inclination of the chair to be adjusted in a variable manner between the seated position and the reclined position by displacement of the lower end of the back (19) over the said cam profile. <IMAGE>
