[origin: WO9000167A1] A process for oxidising epoxy alcohols in a medium containing an organic solvent and water by means of a solid oxidising component in the presence of a catalyst based on a ruthenium salt. The ratio of water to the organic solvent is low enough for the oxidising component to remain, at least largely, in the solid state in the reaction medium which is heterogeneous.

Procédé d'oxydation d'époxy-alcools, dans un milieu contenant un solvant organique et de l'eau, au moyen d'un composé oxydant solide, en présence d'un catalyseur à base d'un sel de ruthénium. La proportion de l'eau, par rapport à celle de solvant organique, est suffisamment faible, pour que le composé oxydant reste, au moins en grande partie, à l'état solide dans le milieu réactionnel qui est hétérogène.
