Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0423424A2] The invention relates to a bomblet-carrying missile with training bomblets which are arranged in the projectile casing and which are ejected above a target area by an ejection unit. <??>So that the training bomblets on the one hand withstand the high acceleration forces occurring during transport into the target area and on the other hand, when striking a yielding ground, such as marshland, swamp, snow, sand or water, do not penetrate deeply and allow a detection of the desired ground signature, in a similar way to a live bomblet, by means of a detonation cloud, light flash and report, each training bomblet (14) contains a housing produced on a paper and/or plastic basis. The housings are light and floatable and do not produce any dangerous splinters during the detonation of the charge. In a training-bomblet housing produced on a paper basis, no residues remain, because the training-bomblet housing decays after just a short time, for example as a result of moisture. <??>So that training-bomblet housings of this type withstand the high initial acceleration forces of the bomblet-carrying missile, the housings of the training bomblets (14) are supported in layers within the bomblet-carrying missile (10), for which purpose supporting elements stackable in the axial direction of the missile, as radial supporting discs (42), and, for the spacing of these supporting discs, space-saving axial stays (44) are arranged in the carrying-missile casing (12). <IMAGE>
