Die Erfindung betrifft einen Gasherd sowie ein Verfahren zum Verbessern des Kochverhaltens von Gasherden, bei welchem die Kochplatte (7) durch Zuführen eines Kühlluftstromes (21) gegen die Unterseite der Kochplatte (7) gekühlt wird, wodurch das unerwünschte Über- bzw. Weiterkochen des Kochgutes verhindert werden kann.
